About FitnessHats
FitnessHats is an independent lab for workout and running hats. It measures hats instead of rating them: inside circumference from fully tight to fully open, crown height, brim length, weight, and how each one held up over logged runs and lifts. It also keeps every brand's size chart exactly as the brand publishes it, so you can find your size before you buy.
It exists because the numbers that decide whether a hat works for you are the ones nobody publishes. Brands list a fabric and a size label. Reviews repeat the brand's claims. Size charts disagree with each other by up to a size. A measured inside range and crown height answer the questions a label cannot: will it open wide enough, and will it sit low or high.
Who runs it
FitnessHats is published by its editorial team rather than a named individual. Because no single person vouches for a page, every number says whether it was measured, quoted or computed, and the rules are public in the editorial policy.
How it works
Every hat is measured with one protocol, photographed from fixed angles and worn for logged sessions before it gets a verdict. The sizing tools use 21 brands' own charts, each linked to its source and dated (start with the hat size calculator). Hat profiles are added as hats are measured, and not before. The rules for what gets published are in the editorial policy.
How it is paid for
For now it isn't. There are no ads and no affiliate links, and no brand pays to be measured, listed or placed. If affiliate links are added later, each page that has them will say so above the first link, and they will never decide which hats are measured or recommended.
The owner's own hat designs
The owner of this site is working on hat designs of their own. None is for sale. If that changes, they will appear only in a clearly labeled section of this site, every page that mentions them will say they belong to the site's owner, and they will be measured with the same protocol and shown with the same spec table as every other hat.
